A successful Photo Shoot depends on many factors and in order to ensure the best possible outcome it would be helpful to know a few things while we prep.

You may not have all the info we ask below on hand but please give us what you can. Any info will help us plan towards an amazing shoot.

Of course we will try to get it all, but if you had to choose that ONE SURE THING.

Often people will worry about the lighting and unfortunately rule out areas based on that. Please do not worry about the lighting. My job is to capture the images you want and to light the pictures as needed and as is necessary to do just that. If I see an alternative place that would work better or if a venue is really not an option for some reason, it is most likely not due to lighting but something else and I will discuss this with you.

Tell me about the wardrobe you have planned for the shoot for each person (colors, links, etc.).

It is often a good Idea to have 2 or 3 outfits for the shoot so that there is a variety of images. - Something more formal, something casual, something that says 'This is me!"

Is there anything special I should know about your family or children before shooting? What do you love about them that you would like captured?

Perhaps ask your spouse what they like about you too!

Do you have any young children involved in the shoot? If so, please tell me about them! What books, movies, songs, cartoon characters, or toys are your children’s favorites?

Are there any special needs/personality characteristics in your group that I should know about?

Do you have any specific props that you would like to include and are bringing to your session?

Think passions, treasured items, specific gifts from someone who will be receiving a picture afterwards, heirlooms, etc.

What makes you or your kids smile and laugh?

Is there anything else I should know about any of the participants that will be helpful to know before the shoot?

Are there any images that you have seen that inspire you and that you want to share with me?

Feel free to send your favorite images (links!) so that I can get an idea of your style. We will most likely not copy those images exactly but will let them guide and inspire the shoot.

Do you have in mind how you plan to showcase your images? Large wall hangings, canvases, wall groupings, albums, or smaller prints?

You may not have a plan yet and that is fine but it may be worth thinking about so that if there are specific shots needed we can get them done too.
