"OLD SCHOOL" meets NEW WORLD
While almost every aspect of today’s world is becoming more online focused and the photography industry is no exception, We do understand that not everyone is comfortable yet working online.
We are able to provide an “OLD SCHOOL” service, where hard copy, ID size images are printed and delivered to the school for delivery to the parents. These “samples” must then be returned to the school along with an order form (and payment) which in turn needs to be returned to us before we can print the final packages.
There are numerous disadvantages to doing it this way for everyone involved including the parents and school staff.
These include the following amongst others:
- The entire process is considerably slower.
- With this system the parents receive only one image option of their child as we make the selection of which single photo to use. With the online system, the parents get to view ALL the usable photos of their child and make their own choice. Most parents choose to use 2, 3 or even more different images when ordering.
- Due to the vastly increased work load and the additional costs of printing, packaging, travel etc. this option does incur additional cost that has to be built into the package pricing. Some online packages may qualify for discounted pricing which cannot be offered with this option.
SCHOOLS THAT CHOOSE NOT TO INCLUDE THE “OLD SCHOOL” OPTION AUTOMATICALLY QUALIFY FOR LOWER PRICING DUE TO THE REDUCED COSTS AND WORKLOAD.
For schools that do choose to include this option, we still offer the online option to those parents that are looking for value added options while accommodating, although with limited choices, those who prefer to stay offline.

FAQ
- Usually we will visit a school to meet with the school representative . We need some info from them and it helps to check out the venues for suitability so that we know if we need to do or bring anything specific.
- Once we have booked a date for the shoot we generate the required documents which must go home with each learner to be signed by the parent or guardian before the shoot. These documents are very important and must be with the learners on the day of the shoot as they contain the unique code that they will need in order to find and order their photos later. They also include a required release allowing us to photograph your child. (Every reputable photographer that understands the intricacies and privacy concerns of working in today’s school environment should require this.)
- When the learner arrives we first photograph them with their code. After that we focus on getting the best possible portrait of them. Within reason we may take a number of pictures to do this.
- The learners can then take their forms with their code home. Keep this safe as you need that code to view and order your pics.
- Once we have completed the shoot at the school we sort and process the images. This includes any basic editing that may be required and may take a few days to complete.
- After that we upload them to our online schools portal and the parents are notified that they can view the images.
- From this point the parents can view, order and pay for their images on our site taking the pressure off of the teachers.
- Approximately 2 weeks from when the images are available to view we close the first round of orders. At this point we process the orders, print the necessary images and deliver the packs to the school for distribution. We keep this period relatively short as the online viewing and ordering process is quick and simple. As our printers print these images in batches, we don’t want to delay the delivery to those parents who order early.
- Approximately 2 weeks after this the images are removed from our site for security and privacy reasons. Any orders received during this period are processed, printed and delivered to the school for distribution.
- If a parent wants to order after this time they will need to contact us with their UNIQUE code and we will arrange this for them.
We understand that different schools have different needs and we are happy to do what we can to accommodate the needs of your specific school where possible.
For smaller schools or groups we have in the past accomodated a set of multiple pictures of each child.
We can tailor the print packages and class photo collage designs.
Feel free to chat to us about any specific needs you may have. Wherever possible, we will do our best to ensure that we create amazing memories for you and your parents.
We strongly believe that every image creates a precious memory and so we do our utmost to create memories that you will want to treasure and keep.
There is however NO OBLIGATION for you to purchase the images if you do not feel you want them.
We use an industry standard payment portal. This means that when you are ready to make payment you are redirected to the SECURE PAYMENT PORTAL.
We NEVER receive any of your banking or card details as all secure information is processed by the payment service provider.
If you would prefer to make a direct EFT simply select that option when you checkout. The banking details will be available when you check out.
PLEASE NOTE: We no longer accept cash payments via the school.
Alternatively you are welcome to contact us to make arrangement to come and pay us directly. We accept cash and have card facilities if you prefer.
We take your privacy very seriously and even more especially when it comes to working with children.
While no online system is 100% impenetrable we do everything we can to ensure that your privacy is maintained and that your childs images are only available to you and those you authorize to view them.
Your child will be allocated a UNIQUE code(password) that will allow only those with that code to access their images. Please keep this safe and only share it with those who you feel comfortable to do so with.
As class and team photos inherently include all the children in that class or team these photos will be available only to those included in that image.
As an added security measure, the images will only be available for a period of time on our website. After that they will be removed. Should you wish to view them once they have been removed please contact us directly and we will gladly arrange that for you.
If your code is not working there are a few possible reasons:
- We have not yet uploaded your childs images. It takes a little while to edit and upload all the image from and school shoot. Please check again in a few days time.
- If the images were availabe and now are no longer available it may be that we have removed them. For privacy and safety we do not keep image on the website available indefinitely. Please contact us with your UNIQUE CODE and we will make them available again.
- It is possible that an admin error has occurred and we need to rectify it for you.

For security we remove the images from our website after a period of time but we still have them in our archives and you are welcome to order from us.

School Photos capture a very real and natural snapshot of your child in the school environment. Children are often not perfectly made up during the school days and we work with this as best as we can.
School Photography is unfortunately basically a production line process and as such we do all we can to make sure the learners look their best but unfortunately we can not practically have hair and makup facilities available for each one. The teachers and assistants generally do their best to assist us and the children but with large classes to look after and very short times allowed they are also not able to make up each child individually.
Please feel free to contact us if you are not happy and we will do our utmost to assist you however possible.
If you would like a portraiture session for your child or family we can definitely arrange this for you. These sessions allow for more time and clothing changes, hair and makup and additional poses.
We do not supply raw unedited files under any circumstances.
If there is an obvious editing mistake with one of your images please let us know and we will gladly asses it. If we find it needs correction we will rectify it. Our goal is always to provide you with the best possible memories and will do all we can to do so.

Each image is a unique work of art produced by the photographer. As with any artwork we request that you respect the work produced and do not apply further filters, cropping or other editing to the images.
